Well, John was trending alright.But it had nothing to do with his big honor. Instead, he became the target of nonstop jokes about his uneven hairline.
After the show, the singer had a few harsh words for all of the tweeters whose jokes helped to make his hairline a trending topic.
"Btw, my hairline has been the same since I was a kid," he tweeted. "Can't believe some people are obsessing about it now. I've been famous for 6 yrs now...And to the haters, I'm still smarter, more talented, more successful and better looking than u. So fall back."
John didn't stop there. ""Sorry y'all. Couldn't believe my hairline was a trending topic. Get a life!," he wrote.
But later, John seemed to regret his Twitter rant. "My lesson: don't be distracted by nonsense and focus on what matters," he tweeted. "I shldnt have stooped. We all live and learn. Back to songwriting."
