Diddy is going to make his dream true with the opening a charter school in Harlem this fall. Puff has made a team with Steve Perry, founder of Capital Prep Magnet School in Hartford, to launch his school.

The rapper says, “creating this school is a dream come true for me.”

He continued, “I want to impact the lives of young people in my community, and build future leaders. The first step is offering access to a quality education.”

The Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School will open for the 2016–17 school year with 160 students. The school will be located on East 104th Street (104th and 5th Avenue) right on Central Park in East Harlem, and currently receiving applications for the 6th and 7th grade students.

The school will be superintended by Capital Preparatory Schools’ founder Dr. Steve Perry, who has led Capital Prep Magnet School for the last 10 years, and will be housed in the same building as El Museo Del Barrio and next door to the Museum of the City of New York.

The Capital Preparatory Schools replication model started with Capital Prep Harbor School in 2015. This will continue in New York with Capital Prep Harlem in 2016.
