Crystal Hunt who played Lizzie Spaulding on the “Guiding Light” and Stacy Morasco on “One Life to Live” was arrested in Los Angeles on December 13 after reportedly smashing a glass over another woman’s face during a heated bar room brawl.
According to law enforcement officials, around 12:30 a.m., Hunt and the now identified woman, Elizabeth Nam, got into an argument at Pearl’s Liquor Bar in West Hollywood. At some point during the argument, Hunt threw a pint size glass, hitting Nam in the face. Although the extent of the injuries is unclear, witnesses said Nam had gashes and cuts, prompting her to seek medical attention.
Following the incident, 28-year-old Hunt was arrested but after posting bail, she was released the following morning. In a statement from Hunt’s attorney, Shepard Kopp, his client was not drinking at the time the argument broke out. He also claims that Hunt had been threatened by Nam and that on several occasions security had tried to have her escorted out of the bar although their attempts failed.
Hunt said that Nam became increasingly aggressive with her and acting in self-defense she chugged the glass in her direction, not meaning to actually hit her face. However, now that the full investigation is complete, Hunt has been formally charged with a felony, assault with a deadly weapon.
Hunt’s attorney continues to claim that the alleged victim was completely drunk and was the one who instigated the fight. He also supports his client in saying that at no time did Hunt intend to hit Name or cause any type of physical harm. If convicted of the deadly assault charge, Hunt could face up to four years in prison.
Court documents reveal that Nam said the attack by Hunt ruined her life. She went as far as to claim that because of the injuries sustained, she may not ever be able to find a mate, which in turn means she might not every have a child because her “biological clock” is ticking. In other words, Nam feels her emotional state and physical appearance make her undesirable to men.
