Final Curtain Call for Tea Leoni and David Duchovny

Tea-LeoniNothing could save the marriage of Tea Leoni and David Duchovny, not even two children, long-standing acting careers, and a stint in rehab. The couple first met back in 1992 and although they remained just acquaintances for the next five years, Leoni and Duchovny eventually tied the knot in a quick but intimate New York City wedding in May of 1997.

For years, the marriage appeared to be strong but then in 2008, the couple separated amid rumors of Duchovny having an affair with Edit Pakay, a Hungarian tennis instructor.

That same year, Duchovny announced that he was entering rehab for a sex addiction problem. After completing treatment, the couple reunited, only to split again in 2011. When the couple put their $9.25 million dollar New York home on the market in January 2013, family and friends knew things had become really serious.

Leoni and Duchovny remained married while living separate lives until August 9, 2014 when their divorce was finalized.

According to insiders, Leoni will receive substantial monetary support based on Duchovny’s nearly $8 million a year salary. As outlined in the settlement agreement, he will shell out $40,000 per month in spousal support and another $8,333 a month to care for the couple’s two children.

Duchovny will also be responsible for the children’s medical expenses, private school, college tuition, and various other extracurricular activities.

Although many people hoped the couple would somehow mend their 17-year marriage, the marital chapter has officially closed. Even so, both Leoni and Duchovny remain dedicated to their children and continue on with strong acting careers.
