Freddie Prinze Jr. Calls Kiefer Sutherland “unprofessional”

freddie-prinze-jr-kiefer-sutherlandFreddie Prinze Jr. says that after working with Kiefer Sutherland, he nearly quit acting, calling him the “most unprofessional dude in the world.”

The 38 year old actor said to ABC News, “I did ’24’, it was terrible. I hated every moment of it.”

And his co-star was a large part of the unpleasantness, “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not be talking trash, I’d say it to his face. I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.”

Despite his role being short lived on the show, it almost has a lasting impact. Prinze said, “I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped.”

But what he found by stopping acting for a while is that there are Sutherlands in any business. Which he confessed, saying, “I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE for Christ’s sake. It was a crazier job than working with Kiefer.”

His experience with the wrestling world however, was easier to handle than working with the 47 year old actor, he says of McMahon, “At he was cool and tall. I didn’t have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do.” referring to his scenes with Sutherland.

He continued, “Just put the guy on an apple box or don’t hire me next time. You know I’m 6 feet and he’s 5’4″.”

Both actors were recently at San Diego Comic-Con, Prinze for his Disney XD series “Star Wars Rebels” and Sutherland to promote “24: Live Another Day.” It is not clear if the two encountered each other at the convention, but in the past Sutherland has had nothing but positive about the “She’s All That.”

Sutherland said of his co-star, “We have some great actors joining us….Freddie Prinze Jr. is playing my partner. It’s this great balance between something that’s new and what fans will find familiar.”

Sutherland’s rep has not made any statement about Prinze’s remarks at this time.
