G.R.L. singer, Simone Battle has committed suicide. Just 25 years of age, Battle was found dead in her West Hollywood Home Friday morning. According to law enforcement officials, everything at this time points to suicide.

RCA Records, Kemosabe Records, Reign Deer Entertainment, and G.R.L.’s founder all released statements saying they are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Battle’s life. Robin Antin, the mastermind behind the famous Pussycat Dolls also made a formal statement, “Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time”.

Battle was born in California and went on to study at the University of Southern California. From a very young age, music was her passion but it was her 2011 stint on the US X-Factor in 2011 that got her noticed. As a finalist on the show, experts in the music industry were in awe of her unrivaled vocal talent. However, her journey to stardom really began after G.R.L.’s debut single called “Ugly Heart”, which hit the top of charts around the world this past June.

While listening to an Australian radio station, Battle posted online that she was listening to them play, “Ugly Heart”. She also posted “Life is but a dream”. It seemed everything was going great for battle yet just one month after the group’s debut song hit the airwaves, Battle’s life was cut short.

Her father is both devastated and shocked. He states that while he has not spoken to his daughter for several weeks, they sent text messages back and forth daily and that at no time did his daughter show any signs of depression. According to insiders, it was Battle’s boyfriend who discovered her body and while an autopsy will be performed and various people questioned, no foul play is suspected.
