Julianne Hough Takes a Permanent Judge’s Seat on DWTS

juliann houghIt was just announced that after serving as a guest judge on the hit television show, “Dancing with the Stars”, Julianne Hough will be taking a permanent seat alongside veteran judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli. While some people were disappointed with her last year’s guest judge performance, Hough apparently made enough of an impression to be honored with this coveted spot.

Both Julianne and her famous dancer, choreographer brother, Derek Hough, spent time dancing on the DWTS show. While Derek continues to be one of the top male dancers, Julianne left to focus on other passions to include singing and acting. Of course, as a two-time professional champion on DWTS and a 2007 nominee for a Creative Arts Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Choreography, it is unlikely she will ever hang her dancing shoes up for good.

Executives of the “Dancing with the Stars” show believe Julianne Hough’s solid dancing credentials coupled with her flourishing acting and singing career will benefit both professional and guest dancers. In addition, they feel her critiques will be fair, honest, and motivating, having been a key performer on the show itself. Julianne’s love of dance was validated when after being sidelined during season 7 of DWTS to have an emergency appendectomy, she only missed a few shows.

Other dancing achievements to her credit include being one of the Million Dollar Dancers on the television show, “Show Me the Money” and three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 Hello Castroneves” with her brother as partner, among many others. In addition, Julianne performed as one of the female dancers on DWTS during seasons 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Each year, more challenging music is selected, more determined guest dancers chosen, and tougher choreography developed, making “Dancing with the Stars” one of the most popular shows on air. Having Julianne as a permanent judge will certainly enhance the show, and possibly work to make it even better.
