Lena Dunham Apologizes To Football Star Odell Beckham Jr

Lena DunhamLena Dunham, star of the HBO series Girls, has apologized to New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for racially-charged statements during an interview with Amy Schumer. Dunham claimed, she was seated next to Beckham at the Met Gala and he neglected her thinking a shapeless woman by his standards.

“It was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards,” she said in an interview with Amy Schumer . “He was like, ‘That’s a marshmallow. That’s a child. That’s a dog.’ It wasn’t mean — he just seemed confused.”

The two time Golden Globe awards winner apologized Saturday on her Instagram. She penned her personal assumptions on her social media accounts about the wide receiver and described them as fact. Finally, she fathomed her fault was a misogynistic thoughts to an unknown person saying “sorry.”

In the post, Lena Dunham called him “narcissistic” about his motivations.

NFL player Odell Beckham Jr. has not recognized the writer’s original statement or apology on his social media accounts.

The writer also apologized for her “misogynistic thoughts” to Beckham writing, “I would never intentionally contribute to a long and often violent history of the over-sexualization of black male bodies — as well as false accusations by white women towards black men.”

Finally, the 30-year-old Girls star adding to the same post she wrote “I’m so sorry, particularly to OBJ, who has every right to be on his cell phone. The fact is I don’t know about his state of mind (I don’t know a lot of things) and I shouldn’t have acted like I did.”
