Pia Zadora Sustains Serious Injury in Golf Cart Accident

pia zadoraAccording to a new report, actress and singer Pia Zadora suffered serious head injuries, as well a broken ankle in a golf cart accident. As stated by Zadora’s manager, Brian Panella, the entertainer, who was in Las Vegas, Nevada, was thrown from the cart being driven by her teenage son.

The manager continues saying that Zadora’s son was in fact driving the golf cart and took an extremely hard turn, tossing her out. Due to injuries, Zadora, age 60, is currently at the Las Vegas University Medical Center. Although she was hurt, a spokesman for the hospital said doctors expect her to make a full recovery.

According to doctors, Zadora sustained a severe head injury. Initially, they believed she had bruising on the brain but after conducting further tests, they feel there will be no lasting effects. Then in a somewhat jokingly manner, they added that perhaps her son should stay away from golf carts in the future.

A representative stated that while Zadora is out of trauma care, she remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital. However, she is resting comfortably and expected to make a full recovery. Once she improves from the head injury, Zadora will have ankle surgery in Los Angeles.

Zadora began her career when just 10 years old while starring in the original Broadway production of “Fiddler on the Roof”. She has also performed in movies to include “Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult”, “Hairspray”, and “Butterfly”. As expected, all of her upcoming singing engagements have been cancelled and once news of the accident was heard, fans all over the world sent best wishes.
